Mayoral Visit to Recycle Direct

On Thursday 9th November, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Mayor of Bridgend, Councillor Pam Davies and her consort Mr.Tudor Davies to Recycle Direct.

Upon arrival, the Mayor and consort congratulated us on our award for 'Manufacturer of the Year', they were introduced to team, gave a brief history of the business, a tour of the workshop, demonstration of our machines and the finishing the visit off with tea and coffee, with a causal chat to get to know the people behind the business.

Recycle Direct - Win Best Manufacturer of the Year Award

On Friday 29th September 2017, Recycle Direct attended the fifth annual Bridgend Business Forum Awards, at the Coed-Y-Mwstwr Hotel, sponsored by Bridgend College and supported by Bridgend Council.

A total of fourteen businesses were shortlisted across eight categories, the night was presented by Sian Lloyd, BBC TV Presenter, with speeches from Ian Jessop, Chair of the Bridgend Business Forum and Carwyn Jones AM, First Minister of Wales.

Bridgend County Borough Council Leader, Councillor Huw David, quoted: “These awards continue to recognise the vital role that businesses, entrepreneurs and employees play in creating a strong economy here in Bridgend”

Recycle Direct aim to capitalise on their success for Manufacturer of the Year, by expanding into the international market and growing operations within Bridgend to maintain a strong presence within the industry.

Nigel Davies, Managing Director, added: “It’s been a very positive year for Recycle Direct, and winning the award for the Manufacturer of Year, solidifies the work we do.

“I feel the success of the company is down to the hard work of all the staff and the continued belief we’re one of the best, not just within Bridgend, but in the UK.

“I’d like to thank Bridgend Business Forum for the opportunity to showcase who we are and what we do, the future for Recycle Direct looks bright and hopefully this won’t be the last  to our achievements”
